Allegation of irregularities and malfeasance among state hospitals in the name of Rogi Kalyan Samiti (Patient Welfare Association already was there).
Now it has come to the public. The patient welfare societies of all hospitals, including the three major hospitals of the state, Agartala Government Medical College & GBP, IGM and ABV Regional Cancer Hospital, have been dissolved.
The state government has issued a notification in this regard by order of the governor.
It has also been discussed to reconstitute the Patient Welfare Association of all hospitals.
After the BJP coalition government came to power, Union Minister of State Pratima Bhowmik has been made the chairman of the GBP hospital’s patient welfare association.
Former MLA Doctor Dilip Das became the Chairman of IGM Hospital
MLA Ratan Chakraborty became the chairman of the cancer hospital.
Allegations of widespread irregularities and anarchy in the hospitals in the name of patient welfare association.
The opposition already raised questions in the assembly as well on Cancer Hospital Patient Welfare Association.
Allegedly lakhs of rupees have been shown to be spent illegally in the name of the patent welfare society.
