The encounter with terrorists continues for the fourth day on Friday in Gadul Kokernag of Anantnag in Kashmir.

On Wednesday, an injured soldier also died after being shot by terrorists. Security forces are firing and blasting towards the place where it is believed that the terrorists may be hiding.

Two to three terrorists are hiding in the dense forest of Pir Panjal spread up to Rajouri. One of them is Lashkar-e-Taiba commander Uzair Khan.

Army’s Colonel Manpreet Singh, Major Ashish Dhaunchak and Jammu and Kashmir Police’s DSP Humayun Bhat were martyred in the attack of these terrorists on Wednesday. A soldier has also been martyred.

Army commandos, sniffer dogs, drones, helicopters are searching for terrorists. Rocket launcher is also being used.

Military officers say that the terrorists have been surrounded within a radius of 4 km. These will be piled up any time. Bombing is being done by drones.

The terrorists attacked on Tuesday when the Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police were conducting a search operation.

Meanwhile the mortal remains of Panipat’s Major Ashish Dhaunchak were taken to his native village Binjhaul. Where his last rites were performed.

Martyr DSP Humayun Bhat of Jammu and Kashmir Police was laid to rest in his native village Budgam on Thursday.

Officers believe that these are the same terrorists with whom three soldiers were martyred in an encounter in the forest of Kulgam on August 4.

This is the biggest attack in Kashmir in the last three years. Earlier, on March 30, 2020, five officers including a Colonel, Major and Sub-Inspector were martyred in an 18-hour attack in Handwara, Kashmir.

Since January this year, 40 terrorists have been killed in Jammu and Kashmir. Of these, only 8 were locals and all the rest were outsiders.
