Students of Kamalpur English Medium Higher Secondary School under Dhalai District staged a massive protest by locking the gate of the school.
The protest was led by the city unit of Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad on Monday. The protest against the unethical act of a school teacher started from 1.30 pm.
Rajesh Nath, the leader of the students organization said that there has been chaos in this Vidyajyoti school for quite some time. A teacher has been doing immoral behavior with girl students for quite some time. Various complaints have been made, but nothing has happened. Therefore, this protest has been stages demanding appropriate punishment.
He said that the protest will continue until assurance is received. A school girl makes the same statement before media.
An hour later DC Aditi Das came to the school. After listening to the student leaders, She asked the headmaster of the school, Abhijit Bhowmik, to report all the incidents in writing.
After receiving the written statement, She told the protesting students that the she will report all incidents to the higher authorities of the education department. The office will take action. The protest was then called off.
It should be noted that the student council has also filed a written complaint against the alleged teacher .
According to the local people students’ protest could have been easily avoided if the SMC of the school had not kept quiet after knowing everything for a long time.
