Karnataka CM Race: DK Shivakumar Cancels Delhi Visit

Amidst the continuing suspense regarding the Chief Minister in Karnataka, DK Shivakumar has suddenly announced not to go to Delhi. He has cited stomach infection.

While talking to a TV news channel, he has given best wishes to Siddaramaiah. In such a situation, speculation is being made that DK Shivkumar has sensed the mind of the high command and he is angry because of this. Because of this, he canceled his tour as well.

Talking to TV news channels DK Shivakumar said, I am not a child. I have my own opinion. Have your own vision. I have honesty. I don’t rebel Blackmail doesn’t. The legislators gave their choice by secret ballot voting. It is being told that Siddaramaiah got the maximum number of votes. On this question, DK Shivakumar said, ‘My best wishes. They have sufficient numbers.

On canceling Delhi tour, DK Shivkumar said, ‘I was called to Delhi. There were some tasks that had to be completed. That’s why I will not go to Delhi now. I have kept my word but the high command has given me some other responsibilities. They have to fulfill everything else God will see.

DK Shivakumar said in the interview, ‘Sonia Gandhi told me that I have faith in you that you will make Karnataka win. I am sitting here, doing my routine duty. You should have basic manners, a little gratitude for who is behind the win.’

Asked whether his move could be seen as a rebellion, DK Shivakumar said, “I will not blackmail, I am not like that. Don’t guess anything. I have my own presence of mind. I am not a baby. I will not fall into any trap”.

Siddaramaiah, 75, has been the Chief Minister of Karnataka once before. In 2018, the Congress contested the elections under his leadership but got less seats than the majority. In such a situation, Congress tied up with JDS to form the government in Karnataka.

DK Shivkumar’s special role is told in that alliance as well. However, after 14 months the government fell and BJP’s Yeddyurappa took oath as CM.

DK Shivakumar turns 61 today. His role is being considered important in the massive victory of the Congress in Karnataka. From day one itself, Shivkumar was busy in preparing the blueprint for the victory of the Congress.

In such a situation, a front has opened in the Congress regarding the post of CM.

Earlier, DK Shivkumar said in a conversation with the media, ‘I have an infection in my stomach, so I will not go to Delhi today.

There are 135 Congress MLAs. I don’t have any MLA. I have left the decision to the high command of the party. Siddaramaiah has reached before this. Some MLAs are also with them. Siddaramaiah may meet Kharge in Delhi.

While talking to reporters at his residence in the evening, DK Shivakumar had said, ‘I do not want to respond to any claim. I’m the only man I believe in one thing that even a single man with courage can make a majority. I do not want to tell all that what has happened in the last 5 years. But one day I will tell everything.

Siddaramaiah, on the other hand, is present in Delhi. He can meet Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge. All eyes are on the party high command as the three observers met party president Mallikarjun Kharge on Monday after seeking the opinion of the newly elected legislators on electing the leader of the Congress Legislature Party in Karnataka.

Sources say that the three observers of the party may submit the report to Kharge and then Kharge will decide on the chief minister after consulting senior party leaders.

Congress President Kharge appointed senior leaders Sushil Kumar Shinde, Jitendra Singh and Deepak Babaria as observers to elect the leader of the Congress Legislature Party (CLP) in Karnataka. All the three supervisors talked to the newly elected MLAs of the party separately to know their opinion.
