“The state government is working towards making Tripura drug free by adopting zero tolerance policy. So that the next generation can be freed from the grip of addiction and build a healthy and strong society” Chief Minister of Tripura Professor (Dr.) Manik Saha urged the people to come forward in addition to the government initiative in this work.
Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha made this call while inaugurating an awareness rally under Khelo Tripura, Sustha Tripura program at Umakanta Academy Ground on Friday.
Department of Youth Affairs and Sports organized this awareness rally. Inaugurating the public awareness rally by waving the flag, the Chief Minister said that Union Home Minister Amit Shah has repeatedly emphasized in the meeting of the North Eastern Council that the entire North Eastern states should be made a drug-free zone.
On the occasion, Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Sushant Chowdhury said, “Khelo Tripura Sustha Tripura program to build a drug-free Tripura and build a healthy Tripura”.
Later the main program of the closing ceremony of the public awareness program against drug addiction organized by the Department of Youth Affairs and Sports for the past one month in various blocks and city panchayat areas of the state, held in Swami Vivekananda Maidan where renowned singer Sonu Nigam performed live.
Sport instruments were distributed among the clubs in this program.
