In a shocking incident an Assistant Headmaster has been found guilty of fund misappropriation and has been removed from service. The order to this end was issued on December 10, 2020 and took effect from that date. The teacher in contention is Paban Kumar Debbarma who was working as Assistant Head Master of Khowai Government HS+2 School. Paban Debbarma was charg sheeted under Rule 14 of the CCS (CC & A) Rules, 1965 for misappropriation of Government money on January 20, 2012. At the time Mr Debbarma was posted in Brajendranagar HS School Dharmanagar, North Tripura. Al though in his defence Paban Kumar Debbarma submitted his written statement on February 13, 2012 wherein he denied the charge brought against him. He was also given an opportunity for personal hearing. Later the matter was transferred to the inquiry authority for a formal inquiry. At last Saumya Gupta issued and order saying that “considering the gravity of the case which involves misappropriation of public money to the tune of Rs 13,33, 241 going through the undersigned is the opinion that this conduct is not befitting a post which can create deep impressions on innocent minds of students. Thus considering the facts and circumstances and on application of mind the undersigned hereby imposes the major penalty of removal from service which shall not be a disqualification for future employment under the Government upon Sri Paban Kumar Debbarma Asst Head Master”.
