Lack Of Govt Publicity: National Family Benefit Scheme Ended In Smoke In Tripura

The National Family Benefit Scheme project has practically come to a standstill in Tripura. This scheme provides a one-time financial assistance of Rs 20,000 to the family in case of death of the sole bread earner of the family between the age of 18 to 59 years.

Only BPL families are eligible to get this opportunity . But as there is no promotion of this project, many people are complaining that they are not getting the money for this project even though they have applied.

The Social Welfare Department is responsible for implementing the scheme. But allegedly, after the death of the sole earner of the BPL family, people are not getting the financial assistance at certain times even after applying for the assistance under this scheme.

Complaints, applications are being kept in files. People are not getting the help and on the other hand many people are not aware about this scheme due to lack of publicity of the scheme.

There are many families in rural areas whose sole bread earner has died. However, many people did not even apply for financial assistance because the local public representatives did not inform them about the project.

On the other hand, the majority of those who have applied are allegedly not receiving the financial assistance on time.

It is alleged that people are not getting help despite visiting the CDPO offices for months.

Allegedly, people are not getting opportunities on time due to a section of employees. People demanding to provide financial assistance through the scheme in time.
