Silchar-Badarpur, Mizoram, Manipur and Tripura have again been cut off from the rest of the country by road due to another landslide in Meghalaya’s Sonapur.
The landslide occurred late on Thursday night due to incessant rains in Meghalaya.
It is noteworthy that on August 5 also this route was blocked due to a landslide at the same place.
The road was made operational by removing the debris that the landslide happened again. The work of removing the debris has started from this morning itself, but due to the incessant rains, the process of getting mud on the road is still going on as last report came in.
Soil falling from the hill has filled the front part of the tunnel, due to which the number six Silchar-Badarpur link road has been completely closed.
Due to the closure of this road, long queues of vehicles going to Silchar-Badarpur as well as places like Mizoram, Manipur, Tripura, etc. have stretched for several kilometers.
