Legendary Brazilian footballer Pele passed away. He was 82 years old. His death was confirmed by his daughter Kelly Nascimento on Instagram.
Pele was battling colon cancer. He had also stopped responding to chemotherapy treatment. Pele was recently admitted to the hospital, where it was found that he also had a respiratory infection.
Pele is considered one of the greatest football players of all time and is a three-time World Cup winner.

Pele was admitted to the Albert Einstein Hospital in Sao Paulo on 29 November last month for treatment of a respiratory infection and chemotherapy. In recent years, he had faced several health problems including his spine, hip, knee and kidney.
Edson Arantes do Nascimento (Pelé) is the only player to win the World Cup three times, having won the sport’s most prestigious trophy, the FIFA World Cup, in 1958, 1962 and 1970.
