Local Passenger Train Service Suspension Extended Till June 18 In Tripura

Due to Corona Curfew and Night Curfew local passenger train service suspension has been extended in Tripura. According to a request latter sent to the NF Railways by the state government it has mentioned that due to Corona Curfew the DEMU train service suspension to be extend till June 18. Earlier, it was notified that the DEMU train service has been suspended till June 12, Saturday. According to the reports coming in the DEMU train service to continue for some more time in the state as government don’t want to take any risk regarding Covid19 situation in Tripura. “Its’ not confirm that the DEMU service to resume after June 18. Considering the whole situation government will take decision in this matter” said a highly placed source of the Transport Department to The Tripurapost. Com on Saturday. At present, three pairs of DEMU and two pairs of passenger trains are serving passengers in Tripura. Besides, Agartala-Sealdah, Agartala-Deoghar, Agartala-Habibganj and Agartala-Anand Vihar trains are running in both directions. The Tripura government today extended the corona curfew in six urban local bodies of the state including the Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) till June 18. Corona curfew was first imposed on May 16 at Agartala municipality. Day and night curfew would continue in six urban local bodies including Agartala Municipal Corporation, Kumarghat Municipal Council, Dharmanagar Municipal Council, Belonia Municipal Council along with Ranirbazaar and Sonamura Nagar panchayats till June 18.
