Tripura Central University (TCU) ranks 28th in terms of overall ranking of Central Universities in the country.
Significantly all other Central Universities in the North East are above Tripura.
The Indian Institute of Ranking Framework (IIRF) has just released the list of universities ranking across the country and out of them, 6 universities from North Eastern states are in the elite group of top twenty universities, but not Tripura.
As per the ranking done, the first three central universities in the country are Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi, Banaras Hindu University and Aligarh Muslim University, UP and the fourth position is occupied by Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) University. New Delhi.
The six Central Universities of the Northeast which are in the elite group of first twenty are Central University of Mizoram-Mizoram (13), Tezpur Central University-Assam (14), North East Hill University (NEHU)-Meghalaya (15), Rajiv Gandhi University, Arunachal Pradesh (16), Assam University-Silchar (19), Sikkim University (18), Nagaland University (24) and Manipur University (26).
Tripura Central University (TCU) has secured 28th rank.
