The violence in Manipur is continue. The government had claimed that peace is gradually being established in the state but on Thursday all the claims were dashed in Imphal.
Despite security restrictions and curfew here, a mob tried to attack the vacant ancestral house of Chief Minister N Biren Singh on Thursday night.
However, the security forces foiled this attack. CM N Biren Singh was in his official residence at the time of the attack.
Regarding the attack, a police officer said, “An attempt was made to attack the ancestral house of the Chief Minister in Hingang area of Imphal. But security forces stopped the crowd about 100-150 meters away from the house”
He said that no one lives in this house but despite this, security personnel are deployed here all the time.
Meanwhile students in Manipur had staged violent protests on Tuesday and Wednesday over the death of two youths.
The mob had also vandalized the Deputy Commissioner’s office in Imphal West district in the early hours of Thursday and set fire to two four-wheelers.
