Many Districts In The Country Remained Behind Even After 75 Years Of Independence: PM

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday interacted with the District Magistrates of various districts. Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kr Deb also took participate in the virtual meeting. During this, PM Modi said, even after 75 years of independence, some districts remained backward. Later they were given the title of backward districts.

PM Modi said, when fulfilling the dreams of others becomes the measure of his success, then that duty path creates history. Today we are seeing this history being made in the aspirational districts of the country. 

PM Modi said, on one hand the budget kept increasing, plans kept on being made, economic development also continued in the figures, but even after 75 years of independence, many districts in the country remained behind. Over time these districts were tagged with backward districts. 

The PM said, today the aspirational districts are removing the barriers of the progress of the country. With the efforts of all of you, the aspirational districts are becoming accelerators instead of deterrents. The districts which were once considered to be making rapid progress, today these aspirational districts are also showing good work in many parameters. The CMs who are present also believe that the aspirational districts in their states have done amazing work. 

PM Modi said, in the last 4 years there has been an increase of 4 to 5 times in Jan-Dhan accounts in almost every aspirational district of the country. Almost every family has got a toilet. Electricity has reached every village and electricity has not only reached the house of the poor, but energy has been transmitted in the lives of the people. 

During the interaction PM Modi referred to the instance of Aspirational district of Tripura Dhalais’ success in improving the institutional delivery from 40-45% to 90%.

Many Chief Ministers including Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, Himachal CM Jai Ram Thakur also participated in the virtual meeting organized by Prime Minister Narendra Modi regarding aspirational districts. This dialogue was part of PM Modi’s vision to ensure that no part of the country is left behind in terms of development. 

In a video conferencing conversation, PM Modi took direct feedback about the progress and current status of implementation of government schemes and programs. This interaction will help in reviewing the performance and finding out the challenges.
