Hanuman Jayanti is on Thursday. Earlier, there was violence in many states during the procession on the day of Ram Navami.
Violence had taken a serious form in West Bengal and Bihar. The Home Ministry has sought reports from both these states.
In view of Hanuman Jayanti, the Center on Wednesday directed all the states and union territories to ensure law and order and peace during the festival and to keep an eye on the factors likely to disrupt communal harmony in the society.
The Union Home Ministry has issued this advisory to all states and union territories in the wake of communal violence in different parts of the country during Ram Navami last week.
The home minister’s office tweeted, “State/UT governments are encouraged to maintain law and order, maintain peace during the festival and keep a check on all kinds of factors that have the potential to disturb communal harmony in the society.”
This year Hanuman Jayanti will be celebrated on 6th April.
