Minimal Government Intervention: PM Modi On New Education Policy

A conference titled ‘Role of NEP-2020 in Transforming Higher Education’ was organised by the Ministry of Education on monday. Addressing the inaugural session of the conference prime minister Narendra Modi said ” government should have minimal intervention in the education policy which “belongs to everyone.” “government, its interference in education policy, its impact, should be minimal. As foreign policy, defence policy are of the country, not government, so is education policy. It belongs to everyone,” he said. The new education policy will help tackle the issues of brain drain and help India become a “knowledge economy” in the 21st century, said PM Modi.
