A special court sentenced two accused to life imprisonment for raping a five-year-old girl. Also fined.
West Tripura District Special Judge Sharmistha Mukherjee gave the verdict on Wednesday.
Special PP Pulak Kumar Debnath quoted the case diary and said that the two convicts Krishna Saha and Sajal Burman are sentenced.
They belongs from West Joynagar residential area of Agartala West Police Station area.
The accused reped the five-year old baby girl for about 15 days and took pictures on her mobile phone and threatened to expose the victim if she told anyone in February 2020.
On February 26, 2020, the victim’s mother filed a case against the two accused in the police station.
SI Emily Nandi submitted the charge sheet after investigating the case.
A total of 17 people testified in court for the government.
In Wednesday’s verdict, the court found both guilty and sentenced under different sections.
Among them, the maximum sentence is life imprisonment and fine of Rs 30 thousand.
