Two miscreants escaped by throwing the country gun in the forest. The incident took place in Brahmachhara village under Teliamura police station, Khowai Subdivision. Search is going on.
A forest official said that ‘illegal timber will be smuggled through the Baluchhara area. In the wake of this information, the forest workers started searching operation since the early hours of Saturday in the Baluchhara area”.
“Forest workers spend long hours sitting on trees. Two youths were seen at early morning bringing firewood on bicycles. Among them a youth had a country gun in his hand. The youth on the bicycle dropped the wood and fled into the forest with a gun witnessing the forest guards” said the official.
Later the matter was reported to Teliamura Forest Range Officer. Meanwhile, the range officer reported it to the Teliamura police station.
Police recovered the gun and started investigation.
