Missing person’s rotting body was found in the river Howrah after six days. The deceased identified as Dipankar Ghosh.
Locals found the dead body in East Pratapgarh area of the capital Agartala on Wednesday morning.
The police was immediately informed. The police of Maharajganj Outpost and the police of East Police Station rushed to the spot. The police informed the family of the deceased and identified the body.
Then the police sent the dead body to GBP Hospital morgue for postmortem.
The family of deceased Dipankar Ghosh complaint is that on April 6, a person named Krishna Ghosh from Kashipur area called Dipankar Ghosh from his home after eleven at night for financial transactions.
Then Dipankar Ghosh’s mobile phone was switched off. Krishna Ghosh was arrested after a complaint was lodged with the police. Later Krishna Ghosh was released by the police. Locals alleged that the body was recovered after long time due to police negligence.
The family members alleged that they did not notice any police activity when they went to the police station.
Meanwhile, the police said, The CCTV footage of Dipankar Ghosh being taken away on a scooty, was submitted to the police by the local residents. The police did not arrest Krishna Ghosh because the footage was not clear. The post-mortem report will clarify how Dipankar Ghosh died.
