Congress Party-led 12-hour-long strike in Tripura, which began at 6 a.m. on Monday, has so far evoked a mixed response. Normal life in the state has been affected by the strike, as barring some auto-rikshaws and two whealers, few public or private vehicle are plying on the roads of state capital Agartala. The state administration had deployed additional police forces to maintain law and order, besides peace. The Congress workers were participating in a civil disobedience agitation, and some of them were injured. Police also arrests a number of picketers from various part of the state including Agartala. On the other hand BJP also pickets against the strike and tried to keep everything normal. The 12-hour strike has been called to protest against the attack on PCC president Pijush Biswas allegedly by BJP supported miscreants on Sunday.
