Prime Minister Narendra Modi had a telephonic conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday.
In the context of the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, PM Modi in his conversation with Russian President Putin reiterated his call for further dialogue and diplomacy.
Russian state agency TASS confirmed it in a statement.
After their meeting on the sidelines of the SCO summit in Samarkand, the two leaders reviewed a range of aspects of bilateral ties, including energy cooperation, trade and investment, defense and security cooperation and other key areas.
PM Modi briefed President Putin about India’s current Chairmanship of G-20 and highlighted its key priorities.
He also looked forward to the two countries working together during India’s chairmanship of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation.
They agreed to be in regular contact with each other.
