National Youth Day 2021: Tripura Remembers Swami Vivekananda On His 159th Birthday

National Youth Day is celebrated on January 12 every year to honor the birthday of Swami Vivekananda. Swami Vivekananda was born on January 12, 1863, in Kolkata. The day is observed across the country at schools, colleges with processions, speeches, music, seminars and so in. The monk who changed the world with his thoughts and work was very vocal about the importance of youth in the process of a better nation. On Tuesday Tripura also remembers Swamiji on his 159th birth anniversary and observes National Youth Day. Main program was organized at Vivek Uddyan, Childrens Park. Chief Minister Biplab Deb also took part in the program. The monk had an incredible understanding and knowledge of philosophy, religion, literature, Vedas, Puranas, Upanishads, and what not. He still motivates the youth with some of his inspirational quotes “All the powers in the universe are already ours. It is we who have put our hands before our eyes and cry that it is dark. Arise! Awake! and stop not until the goal is reached. We are what our thoughts have made us; so take care about what you think. Words are secondary. Thoughts live; they travel far. Fill the brain with high thoughts, highest ideals, place them day and night before you, and out of that will come great work. You cannot believe in God until you believe in yourself.”
