New Map Claiming Arunachal Pradesh: India Lodges ‘Strong Protest’ With China

India has given a sharp reaction regarding the new map of China. Foreign Ministry spokesman Arindam Bagchi said on Tuesday (August 29) that we have protested through diplomatic channel.

In its new map, China has declared Arunachal Pradesh as its territory.

Bagchi said, “We have lodged a protest through diplomatic channel on the so-called standard map of China, which claims the territory of India. We reject these claims as they have no basis. Such steps will only complicate the resolution of the boundary question by the Chinese side”.

China on Monday (August 28) officially released the 2023 version of its standard map. This includes Arunachal Pradesh, Aksai Chin region, Taiwan and other disputed areas including its claims on the disputed South China Sea.

“The 2023 version of China’s map was officially released on Monday and posted on the website of the standard map service owned by the Ministry of Natural Resources,” the Chinese state-run Global Times wrote on X (formerly Twitter), news agency PTI reported.

It has been issued. This map has been compiled on the basis of drawing the national boundaries of China and various countries of the world.

Foreign Minister S Jaishankar said, “The area claimed by China by issuing the map is not its own.” It has become a habit of China to do this again and again to claim the territory of India, but this is not going to change anything. Our government is very clear about the area of India”.

India has been repeatedly saying that Arunachal Pradesh is its integral part and will always be so.

At the same time, in May 2020, tension arose in the relationship between the two countries after the border standoff started in East Ladakh.
