Complaint has been lodged against the Dom of thr morgue of the Bishalgarh Sub-Divisional Hospital for withholding the body demanding money after the post-mortem.
Due to this, Dom quarreled with the family of the deceased and the residents of the area. Bishnu Ghosh, a resident of Ghanimara area of Bishalgarh sub-division. By profession he was a trader in Nehalchandranagar market.
Allegedly, Ghosh had an illicit relationship with a relative of the area for many years. It often caused family problems. Finally, Bishnu Ghosh had trouble with his son on Sunday. At the end, Bishnu Ghosh took his wife and children out of the house at night. Later he committed suicide by hanging in his house. When the family members saw the incident, they immediately brought him to Bishalgarh sub-divisional hospital.
But the doctor on duty declared him dead. On Monday, the postmortem was conducted in Bishalgarh Sub-Divisional Hospital in the presence of the police.
Dom demanded Rs 3 thousand after the post-mortem investigation. He also said that the dead body will not be given.
But it was impossible for the family to pay so much money. In this situation, the people of the area rushed to the spot of the incident.
Dom also grumbles with them. Later, the deceased’s family members and local residents took the dead body with about half of the money.
Meanwhile, due to the tragic consequences of social degradation, the death of the businessman has cast a shadow of mourning in the area.
On the other hand, people are also angry about the illegal demand of money from the family of the deceased in the hospital.
Notably there is no government appointed dom in the hospital. That’s why such situation erupted and many families becoming victim of the situation.
This incident is not only of any particular hospital but people are allegedly facing such problems in other parts of the hospitals of the state.
Victims are demanding government must take strict action against such harassment.
