REGA employees under Rural Development Department of Tripura Government yet to receive the salary of the month of March.
Although first week of the month April already passed but near about 3000 employees working in REGA yet to get the salary of March.
” This is the month of Chaitra ( Bengali year ending). I have to clear the pendings. But as i yet to receive the salary my family is facing problem” said Atanu Dhar a REGA employee from Agartala to The Tripura Post.
According to the sources from the State Civil Secretariat Rural Development Department of the Tripura Government already spent excess mony ( more than Rs 82 crore ) from the allotted fund under Material and Administrative sector of REGA Project.
In Material sector fund was allotted Rs 216 cr 86 lakh and 97 thousands for the financial year 2022-2023. But department spends extra Rs 64 cr 44 lakh and 51 thousands.
On the other hand in Administrative sector of the project the allotment was Rs 33 cr 72 lakh and 14 thousands. But department already spends extra Rs 18 Cr 21 lakh and 57 thousands.
Naturally there is no fund in Material and Administrative sector of this project and that’s why REGA work has been stopped and Salary of the employees has been held up.
According to the sources as Social Audit of the department has been deactivated such problems are erupted and employees and workers are now in distress.
