The Election Commission (EC) has advised the Central Government not to organize Vikas Bharat Sankalp Yatra in election bound states.
The Commission said that the Yatra should not be organized in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Telangana and Mizoram till December 5. The election results in all five states will come on December 3.
Vikas Bharat Sankalp Yatra is going to start from November 15 to inform people about the schemes and benefits of the Central Government across the country.
According to news agency PTI, earlier, Information and Broadcasting Secretary Apoorva Chandra said that this journey will start in the election states after the code of conduct is lifted. He said that from now on the word Rath will not be used in Information, Education and Communication (IEC) vehicles.
“It has been decided to remove the word Rath from the vehicles promoting government schemes in 2.55 lakh gram panchayats and around 18,000 places in urban areas,” he said.
Chandra said the Vikas Bharat Sankalp Yatra (VBSY) will be held on November 15. PM on the birth anniversary of Birsa Munda Narendra Modi will give the green signal.
This journey will conclude on 25 January 2024, on the festive evening of Republic Day. During this visit, a question-answer session will also be held with PM Modi through video conferencing.
The aim of this campaign is to reach out to those people who are eligible for benefits under various government schemes, but have not received the benefits yet.
Branding of government schemes will be done
through IEC van. Branding will be done with various government schemes like Kisan Credit Card, Gramin Awas Yojana, Ujjwala Yojana, PM Swanidhi Yojana.
More than 2,500 mobile performing vans and 200 mobile theater vans will be pressed into service during the Vikas Bharat Sankalp Yatra. The use of drones in farming will also be demonstrated during the visit to rural areas.
