Tripura state government has allotted 2.36 acres of land to establish the campus of National School of Drama (NSD) in Tripura.

The complex will be set up at Ranirbazar in West Tripura district and a memorandum of understanding (MoU) has been signed in this regard, official said.
NSD Agartala Centre’s program coordinator Subir Roy said , “Following NSD’s request, the state government has allotted 2.36 acres of land. A MoU was signed between the two parties on Tuesday.
“Now, we will declassify the land before starting the work of setting up the NSD center in Tripura,” he said.
At present, the NSD center is being operated from Nazrul Kalakshetra.
He said that at present, a one-year course under ‘Theatre in Education’ is being taught at the Agartala Centre, which will be extended to two years.
Roy said that currently 20 students are studying the course.
