Number of Durga Puja increased in Tripura. Durga Puja is being held in around 2900 mandaps this year 2023.
Meanwhile, Tripura police and administration have taken adequate security measures to ensure a peaceful Durga Puja.
Tripura police said that the number of Durga Pujas has increased significantly this year. This time Puja is being held in 2900 pandals. A top police officer of Tripura said that compared to last year, there has been an increase of about 400 pujas.
Official said, with 2,506 public pujas were held last year. It has increased a lot this year. This time most puja is in West Tripura district.
There are about 950 public worships there. Agartala city area is now hosting the largest number of big budget pujas. Many of these are based on theme.
Adequate security arrangements have been made there. Special steps have been taken in Agartala also. The police administration of West Tripura district said.
Strict measures have been taken to ensure a peaceful and safe celebration of Durga Puja. Apart from the state police, special police officers are being deployed there.
About 2,500 Tripura State Rifles jawans are being deployed separately for security. Along with this, 60 police assistance centers, 25 Naka check posts and 60 police booths are being set up.
West Tripura Superintendent of Police Kiran Kumar said that security arrangements have been made where necessary. He also said that CCTV cameras have been installed in different areas for the security of the city.
