The Maharashtra government is going to reopen the schools which were closed due to Corona virus.
Maharashtra School Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad gave this information and said that schools from class 1 to 12 are being reopened in the state.
Offline classes will start from January 24. Schools will also be opened in Mumbai from January 24. Recently state Health Minister Rajesh Tope had said that the state government would take a decision to resume physical classes across the state in the next 10-15 days.
At the same time, this decision has been taken today. Let us inform that due to the increase in the cases of Covid, the Maharashtra government had ordered the closure of state schools on 8 January.
The government had ordered the closure of the school till February 15. Whereas the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) had closed schools in Mumbai till January 31.
A municipal official had said that all schools for classes 1 to 9 and 11 will remain closed till January 31 amid rising cases of Covid-19 in Mumbai. However, now there is a decline in the cases of corona in the state.
Due to which schools are being opened. On Wednesday, 43,697 cases of corona virus infection have been reported in Maharashtra. At the same time, there has been a steady decrease in corona cases in metropolitan Mumbai. In the last 24 hours, 6032 new patients of Corona have appeared.
At present, the number of active corona patients in Mumbai is 31,856. In the last 24 hours, 60,291 tests were conducted and the positivity rate is 10%. There were 6,149 cases in Mumbai on Tuesday, this number has come down somewhat on Wednesday.
47,700 tests were conducted on Tuesday and the positivity rate was 12.89%. A total of 16,488 people have died due to corona in Mumbai so far.
According to the Health Department of Maharashtra, 49 patients have died due to Covid-19 in the state in the last one day.
At present, 23,93,704 patients are in home isolation in Maharashtra and 3,200 infected are in institutional isolation.
