Due to no ‘Question Hour’ opposition cpim walked out from assembly on monday. Naturally it was hassle free to pass the bills for government. In one day monsoon session of tripura assembly on monday state government cleared 10 bills. The House passed 10 bills including The Industrial Disputes (Tripura second amendment) Bill, 2020, The salaries, allowances, pensions and other benefits of the ministers, speaker, deputy speaker, leader of opposition, government chief whip and members of the legislative assembly (Tripura) sixth amendment) Bill, 2020, with thumping vote. Chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb, in his speech in the assembly, highlighted government initiatives to tackle covid19. Deb also claimed that the death rate due to COVID in the state is ‘almost negligible’, as per the reports released by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare recently, Tripura has 1.11% COVID fatality rate, which is the highest in North East. Monsoon session was reduced to just one day due to Covid-19 pandemic.
