The wings of Communist Party Of India – NFIW, AIIF, AISF, AITUC jointly staged protest in Krishnanagar area of the capital Agartala on various demands including continuous violence against women, rampant drug trade, privatization of education system, increase in commodity prices.
CPI State Joint Secretary Milan Baidya, who was present there, said that:
“the price of goods has increased three times from what it was before 2014 during the current government led by Narendra Modi. As a result, people are in terrible condition. Government is not taking any steps to control price rise.
“bringing the earlier bill in Parliament, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is trying to earn praise for himself. The sit-in program is against such activities of the government”.
