On the occasion of the 70th All India Cooperative Week, a discussion program was held at the Agartala Town Hall on Tuesday jointly organized by the Department of Cooperatives and the Tripura State Cooperative Union.
Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha along with Department Minister Shuklacharan Noatia, Mayor Dipak Majumdar were present in the program.
Cooperative week is observed from 14 November to 20 November every year.
The theme of this year’s cooperative week is the “five trillion dollar economy and the role of cooperatives in sustainable development”
Speaking in the program , the Chief Minister said that the idea of the Ministry of Cooperative is to develop through cooperatives and developing the rural economy. Only then it will be ek bharat srestha bharat.
He also said that the main purpose behind organizing such a program is to highlight the issue of cooperatives at the grass root level. From today’s program , work should be done with the aim of making the National Cooperative Policy. The government is working with the aim of how to develop through cooperative societies in the next five years.
The Chief Minister also said that after 2018, 1726 cooperative committees have been formed in the state.
The chief minister said that people want jobs. People can earn more than jobs through cooperatives.
Therefore, he said to come forward seeing the cooperative from the point of view of the movement.
The Chief Minister said that the government has also planned to open the Farmers Samriddhi Centre. This will benefit the farmers.
However, the important thing is that the Chief Minister opened his mouth about the issue of any corruption . It is not possible to take the cooperative centers forward unless there is clarity, concentration among the management committee of the organization, he said.
The Chief Minister said that there are currently 20 medical centers in the state. Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha said that more such centers can be opened through Lamps Packs.
People associated with Lamps-Packs from different parts of the state participated in the discussion meeting.
On the occasion, the Chief Minister launched a mobile van of the Cooperative Bank outside the Town Hall.
