Due to protest rally of chakma community with the deceased body of pindulal chakma, tension once again erupted in Laljuri, Kanchanpur On Friday. District administration deployed extra force to maintain peace. Chakma Community demands justice in this case. On 22 October Thursday morning in a clash between Chakmas and Bengalis two persons seriously injured in Laljuri under Kanchanpur Sub-division in North Tripura. The clash erupted due to land disputes issues in Laljuri. Two years ago, there were Patta land disputes between two brothers and Bengali, but after a government resolution and intervened, it was decided and handover the land to in the name of two brothers. The Patta land was registered in the name of two brothers named Pemolal and Pindulal Chakma, claims Chakma Community. After two years, on 22nd October 2020 local club made the Durga puja pandals without the permission of the owners, alleged chakma community. so in this regards the Chakmas protested and blocked the Laljuri bridge. In retaliation locals attacked in a mob to the Chakmas in Laljuri. Two persons were seriously injured named Bikanta Chakma, 26, and Pindulal Chakma, 46. Both the injured person were hospitalized. Later on, the police with TSR Jawans reached the spot and controlled the mob. On Thursday 5th November Pindulal chakma died in ILS hospital. Police arrests 2 person in this case. On 10th November a meeting to be held regarding the disputed land at kanchanpur SDM office.
