On this occasion, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamta Banerjee said, “Prime Minister, today is a very sad day for you. I will pray to God to give you the strength to bear this sorrow. I will request you to Keep it short, because you just came from your mother’s funeral.”
Let us tell you that the number of Vande Bharat trains is being increased day by day. On Friday, PM Modi flagged off the country’s seventh Vande Bharat train from Howrah to New Jalpaiguri and dedicated it to the people of West Bengal .
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on this occasion that today I have the opportunity to bow down to the holy land of Bengal. The history of independence is embedded in every particle of Bengal. From the land where ‘Vande Mataram’ was chanted, ‘Vande Bharat’ was flagged off. I apologize to the people of West Bengal for not being able to attend this program after coming to West Bengal due to personal reasons. Vande Bharat train is being extended continuously. The date of flagging off the Vande Bharat train, December 30, is significant because on this day in 1943, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose hoisted the tricolor in Andaman.

More than 25 schemes are going to be started in West Bengal under Namami Gange. Work is on to increase water power. Records are fast becoming highways. Work on 5 new projects will start from today.
