Police Takes Various Steps For Peaceful Dewali Festival In Agartala

Various measures have been taken by the administration to maintain security and law and order in the city Agartals during Diwali and Kali Puja festivals.

Sufficient number of CRPF is being deployed to prevent any untoward incident. West Tripura District Superintendent of Police Kiran Kumar said this in a press conference on Saturday.

On this day, he said, this year, 295 Kali Puja are being held in West Tripura District. Out of this, Kali Puja has been organized in 260 places in Sadar area (Agartala) and 88 places in rural areas.

“Special arrangements have been made by the administration for security. 170 TSR personnel will be engaged in security work. 34 women police and 250 police have been deployed in civil dress.” Said Kumar.


He claimed that this year, there will be more people gathering in the Kali Puja of AD Nagar Police Line.

Separate security arrangements have been made for it. On this day, he also said that special arrangements have been made for fireworks at AD Nagar police ground. Meanwhile, special teams are working to stop the sale of fire crackers.
