Specuspeculation in the air that the general election be held ahead of schedule in December-January. This is an important matter , because the whole country has to give a new mandate.
Although the internal indications of the government and the BJP are not like this, because Prime Minister Modi has reiterated many times that he respects the mandate, so he will remain in the administration for the entire term and the elections will be held on time, but the big leaders of the opposition like, Nitish Kumar and Mamta Banerjee have expressed apprehension of mid-term elections.
Both are the Chief Ministers of Bihar and West Bengal respectively. Intelligence report reaches to them also. Both the leaders have urged to unite the ‘INDIA’ alliance soon and decide on a common strategy.
Mamta Banerjee even claims that the BJP has booked helicopters for the election campaign.

Prime Minister Modi’s strategy may be that the opposition alliance may not even take shape and the elections should be called off.
Opposition leaders argue that the way the Modi government has made LPG cylinders cheaper by Rs 200 and those under ‘Ujjwala Yojana’ will get Rs 400 cheaper. Along with this, it has also been announced that 75 lakh women will be given free gas connections and filled gas cylinders under the ‘Ujjwala Yojana’.
This brings the total number of beneficiaries to 10. It will be 35 crores. This is the claim of Modi government only. These announcements are information promoted as ‘Rakhi ka TOWFA However, the total number of people using LPG cylinders in India is a little over 33 crore, so the number of beneficiaries of ‘Ujjwala’ is very important. Besides this, the BJP leadership has already declared candidates for the lost seats in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan. He is also involved in the election campaign.
Arguments are also being given that the BJP leadership has also alerted its party cadre and Home Minister Amit Shah is addressing innumerable booth level workers. He is also being talked to on the phone. Actually it has been the old strategy of BJP that it is always ready for elections. The prospects of the mid-term elections are not clear from these, but the most important information is that around Makar Sankranti in January, Prime Minister Modi is to inaugurate a part of the grand Ram temple in Ayodhya.
The idols of Ram Lala are to be installed here, so they will be considered alive. The BJP would like to capitalize on this sensitive and faith-based issue in a big way, so the elections will be held at the scheduled time of April-May.
In fact the ‘INDIA’ alliance has not yet assumed a definite shape and strength. Meetings of ‘India’ held in Mumbai on 31 August and 1 September. Let’s see that the chairman of the coalition, Along with the convenor being decided, a preliminary decision is taken on whether or not the secretariat and the distribution of seats are taken.
A common minimum program of the alliance is also very important. The face of the Prime Minister’s post will not be decided for the time being, because noises are being made of their respective leaders for the post of Prime Minister in their respective areas of influence.
It is possible that Nitish and Mamta are trying to pressurize by creating an atmosphere of elections, so that all the decisions are taken soon and joint election campaign of ‘India’ can be started. Whatever may be the reasons, a debate has erupted in political circles whether mid-term elections can be held. Such elections are not unprecedented and unexpected, because in 1971, 1980, 1984, 1991, 1998, In 1999 and 2004, the then Prime Minister had called for mid-term elections for various reasons. They won and their teams also lost. However, the present scenario is quite different. We will keep an eye on the government’s decision.
As far as the candidates for the post of Prime Minister in the opposition alliance are concerned, there is still no unity in this matter. Some are saying that Arvind Kejriwal should be made the PM, some want to make Rahul Gandhi, while some are even taking the names of Mamta or Nitish.
