The Tripura government not submitted the affidavit in public interest litigation regarding post-poll terror in the state within the stipulated time in the High Court.
Government Advocate D. Bhattacharya sought four more weeks to file the affidavit before Chief Justice Apresh Kumar Singh and Justice Arindam Lodh’s Division Bench.
The high court directed the state government to submit the affidavit within two weeks.
“All though the high court directed the state government on March 21 to take step to stop the post poll terror, but still such incidents are going on” Senior lawyer Purushottam Roybarman informed the High Court.
He also appeals to the High Court to direct state government to consider the matter of interim compensation to the victims of violence and terror.
The Tripura High Court also directed the state government to mention about the step taken regarding the compensation in the affidavit.
Next date of hearing of this PIL is May 2.
