PRASHANT BHUSHAN REFUSES TO APOLOGISE: AFFIDAVIT FILED IN SUPREME COURT ON MONDAY.

In a fresh affidavit filed in the Supreme Court on Monday, advocate Prashant Bhushan refused to apologise for two of his tweets over which the top court had on 14 August found him guilty of contempt. ‘Insincere apology will be contempt of conscience’ bhushan said in his affidavit. Prashant Bhushan tells Supreme Court an apology cannot be a mere incantation and any apology has to, as the court has itself put it, be sincerely made. On 20 August, the court gave Bhushan time until Monday 24 August to tender an unconditional apology.
