Sabyasachi Datta Purkayastha and Biswajit Palit appointed as new judges of Tripura High Court.
The Supreme Court collegium recommended their appointment. On Wednesday it got the President’s approval.
Biswajit Palit is currently serving as the Law Secretary to the Government of Tripura.
Meanwhile, Sabyasachi Dutta Purakayastha is currently working as the Director of Tripura Judicial Academy.
Now the Tripura High Court consists of Chief Justice Aparesh Kumar Singh along with Justice T Amarnath Gaur and Justice Arindam Lodh.
Union Minister of State for Law Arjun Ram Meghwal said in his X (Twitter) message that the President of India has agreed to the appointment of Judges and Additional Judges in various High Courts in consultation with the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court.
Along with that message, he has included the appointment list of 17 judges. Sabyasachi Datta Purkayastha and Biswajit Palit are on the list as judges of Tripura High Court.
