As part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebration, the Eastern Command of the Indian Army organized a Pan North East Car rally connecting all the capital cities of the Northeast States.
It is named “Purvottar Bharat Parikrama”. This rally has started from Kolkata Fort Williams. This rally will travel all states of Northeast India.
The initiative aims to share their experiences with youth, freedom fighters, heroism award winners and more and build a meaningful connection for inclusive development of India.
Lieutenant General Rana Pratap Kalita, GOC-in-C Eastern Command reached Agartala on Friday.
Members of the car rally on Saturday paid tribute to freedom fighters and martyred soldiers at Albert Ecca Park, Agartala.
This rally will travel 5000 kilometers. On Sunday they will leave for Silchar.
