Rampage Of Wild Elephant: Villagers Blocked NH In Teliamura

Common people suffer when the responsibilities are handed over to the incompetent, depriving the deserving. Such accusations are leveled against the Teliamura sub-divisional forest department. 

The problem has been going on for years. Rampage of wild elephants in various villages under Teliamura forest department is on.

Fed up with the rampage of wild elephants, the victims have already started protesting .


It has been reported that several farmer families were affected by the attack of wild elephants on Friday night. 

The families living in the affected Teliamura SDM office area, Chakmaghat have expressed their anger over the role of the forest department in Teliamura sub-division under Khowai district of Tripura. They blocked the Teliamura-Agartala National Highway on Saturday.

“Group of wild elephants are constantly rampaging various areas of Chakmaghat, Champlai, DM Colony, Uttara Krishnapur, Madhya Krishnapur, Bhumihin colony, Kapali tila. They are destroying the house, crops. Common residents including farmer families are affected” said the local. 

Group of wild elephants attacked area adjacent to Telìamura SDM office under Teliamura forest department on Friday night. 

“Wild elephants have freely destroyed the banana plantations along with several houses. Teliamura forest department staff were informed on time but they not arrived. When the forest workers reached the spot, the wild elephants destroyed houses, banana trees and various vegetable” they said.

Later police and forest department officials rushed to the spot and controlled the situation. After that the road blocked has been lifted.
