Rashtriya Ekta Divas was celebrated at Arundhatinagar police ground on Tuesday. The birthday of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the first Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister of independent India, is celebrated as National Unity Day.
State Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha was present as the chief guest in this program organized at Police Ground.
He started the program by placing a wreath on the portrait of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
Soldiers of various forces, including the Police TSR, paraded on the day.
Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha recited the oath on the occasion of Rashtriya Ekta Divas.
Speaking in the program Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha said that:
independent India’s first Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel played a key role in preserving the unity and integrity of the country after independence. He has worked all his life for the purpose of building India. Between 1947 and 1949, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel incorporated about 565 princely territories into India. This great work was made possible by the strong mindedness and elder steps of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
Since 2014, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has started Unity Day celebrations on Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s birthday. Its purpose is to honor Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The main aim is to pay tribute to Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel to protect the unity and integrity of the country.
The Prime Minister started Run for Unity in 2014 with the aim of paying tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The purpose of celebrating Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel’s birthday is to inspire everyone to build a stronger, prosperous India. Also, to encourage everyone to confront the evil forces inside and outside the country who are trying to weaken the country and disrupt its integrity.
On this day, various battalions of Tripura Police, Tripura State Rifles participated in the parade.
Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha took the salute of the parade.
