Ratan Reviews Work Of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare Department

After the formation of the new cabinet, the Tripura cabinet ministers are holding review meetings after getting their respective responsibilities. 

Inquiring about the status of their offices. A review meeting of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department was held at Agartala Muktdhara Auditorium on Wednesday.

 The meeting was presided over by the minister of the concerned department, Ratan Lal Nath. 

Apart from the Minister, Sagar Debnath, Chief Engineer of Agriculture Department, Secretary, Director of Horticulture Department and other officials were present in it. 

Various issues were discussed in the meeting. Later, Department Minister Ratan Lal Nath said, efforts will be made to reach the state’s agriculture level. Government is giving priority to village-poor-farmers. 

The minister said that last year only the infrastructure development work was done worth of Rs 265 crore. 

He said that a plan of Rs 78 crore has been taken to build new markets in various places including Nabhubazar, Sonamura, Rajnagar. 

Efforts are being made so that this department gets the best award. 

He said, The process of appointing some people in the office is going on. New engineers should be recruited. 

The minister also said that the farmers are getting their expenses due to the purchase of paddy at subsidized prices. What steps can be taken in the coming days for the further development of the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare were emphasized on this day.
