Robbers seized a bike on Saturday night in the area adjacent to Bandhan Bank on the street of Bishalgarh under Sepahijala district and stole cash, mobile phones and other items.
According to the report 3 youths left for Agartala on Saturday night from Udaipur Matabari by bike. Among them, one youth belongs from Dhumachara in Dhalai district and the other two youths live in Agartala.
Their bikes ran out of oil when they reached the area near Bandhan Bank in Bishalgarh. The robbers then came in a car and detained them and took away Rs 5,100 in cash and mobile phones after threatening them to kill.
There was no way for them to fight back or escape. They said that the robbers had weapons in their hands.
At last they came to the police naka point at Uttambhakta Chowmuhani in the night and reported the matter and the number of the car used by the robbers. Immediately the police alerted all the police stations and naka points.
The car tried to go towards Naka Point and the police intercepted the it. Six robbers in the car were also arrested.
Sub-inspector Mridul Majumder in charge of Uttambhakta Chowmuhani Naka Point said that iron rod mobile phones and other objectionable items were recovered from the six arrested persons.
The police also seized the vehicle . He also said that the cash and mobile phones stolen by the robbers have also been recovered from them.
The police have registered a case against the 6 arrested people. It should be noted that such robberies are often taking place at night on Bishalgarh By-pass Road.
It has become a matter of fear to travel on this road at night. It is alleged that the robbers are committing such crimes ignoring the police patrolling.
There have been demands to increase night police patrolling in the area.
