SC Closed Hearing: ‘Ready To Return All Our Medals, Awards’ – wrestlers

The Supreme Court on Thursday closed the hearing of the petition of women wrestlers against WFI President Brij Bhushan. 

The court said that women wrestlers have been given protection. Their demand was to register an FIR against Brij Bhushan, which has been fulfilled. Now if there is any other issue, the petitioners can go to the High Court or the lower court. 

On this the wrestlers said that we respect the order of the court, but our protest will continue.

The decision of the Supreme Court has come when there was a clash between the policemen and the wrestlers who were protesting at Jantar Mantar. 

Wrestler Rakesh Yadav and Vinesh Phogat’s brother Dushyant were injured in the late night clash at Jantar Mantar. 

Delhi Police says that force was not used on the wrestler, 5 policemen have been injured. We also got the policemen’s medical done. No one was found to be intoxicated.

Wrestlers who have been protesting continuously for 12 days said on Thursday after the clash that they will return all the medals to the Government of India. 

Mahavir Phogat also said that he will return his Dronacharya Award. Swati Maliwal, president of Delhi Women’s Commission, farmers and khap leaders have reached to meet the wrestlers. 

Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Navjot Singh Sidhu and boxer Vijender Singh have supported the wrestlers.

Dangal girl Gita Phogat said that me and my husband Pawan Saroha have been arrested by the Delhi Police. This is very sad. I am not even being allowed to meet my siblings.
