Higher Education Institutions reopened today. Classes of 10, 12 of Schools and Classes of Degree Colleges starts with Cent Percent teachers attendance norms. Earlier, in November, the state government had announced that colleges and schools for higher class students will resume from 1st December 2020 onwards. However, following a last minute review of the pandemic situation in the state; Tripura Govt decided to postpone the reopening plans. Earlier Tripura Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath in a video sent out on a social media platform. In the video, he informed that schools for students who are in their board exam years and college students will resume from 7th December 2020 onwards. He also said that the decision to reopen schools and colleges in Tripura has been taken after a thorough review and based on feedback shared by the Health Department. He also said that for now schools would reopen only for Class 10 and 12 students as their board exams were drawing closer. While the state government has decided to reopen schools in the state; all schools have been asked to follow the basic COVID precautionary guidelines and protocols for the same. This means that, all school administration need to ensure students and staff members entering the school campus thermal scanning on arrival, social distancing, sanitisation and handwashing facilities. Moreover, in line with the Unlock Guidelines, all students will need to carry written consent from their parents to attend schools after they reopen. In colleges, the schedule of classes would be decided by respective principals and notified shortly in accordance with the education department guidelines.
