Security Beefed Up Ahead Of Modi’s Tripura Visit

Prime Minister Narendra Modi to visit tripura on December 18. Before that, the police administration tightened the overall security system of the state.

 BSF has also been instructed to be alert. West District Superintendent of Police Shankar Debnath held a press conference in this regard on Friday afternoon.

 He said that sufficient number of police have been deployed to maintain law and order throughout the state Meanwhile, other security forces have also been alerted.

The Superintendent of Police said, “The Prime Minister will arrive at the Swami Vivekananda Maidan in Agartala from the airport. He will reach there by road. A large number of police and security personnel will be deployed to prevent any untoward incident. Security has been beefed up not only in the western district but all over the state. We have also alerted the BSF and other security forces. BSF and Police are jointly patrolling the India-Bangladesh border every day. Security has also been beefed up at Vivekananda Maidan. CCTV cameras have been installed everywhere.” 

Apart from this, police and security forces are also patrolling the city of Agartala Searches are being conducted at various places.

West Tripura District Magistrate Debapriya Bardhan was present at the press conference.

 He said that the Prime Minister’s plane will land at Maharaja Bir Bikram Airport on December 18 at 2:25 PM. From there he will reach Vivekananda Maidan by 2:45 PM.

 His program will continue there till 3.45 pm The Prime Minister will inaugurate seven projects from the stage of this event.

The District Magistrate also said, “Special trains and buses have been arranged for the beneficiaries of various government projects to reach the venue on that day. We are taking all steps to ensure that the event is completed smoothly. We estimate that about 72 thousand people will attend the event on Sunday. The Prime Minister will leave the state at 5.15 pm on the same day.” 

However, he will also hold a meeting at the State Guest House before leaving Tripura.

Modi will attend a function of the Northeast Council to be held in Meghalaya on Sunday. He will come straight to Agartala from there.
