Security Beefed Up In Tripura For Republic Day. Border Sealed

The security has been beefed up in Tripura as the Union Home Ministry has alerted the Indian north eastern states to maintain strict vigil in the run-up to the Republic Day and foil any attempt by separatist outfits to create a vicious situation. The police vigil in busy areas, roads, markets as well as sensitive interior pockets and patrolling on the border areas has been intensified. Checking of vehicles in and around capital Agartala has also been intensified. After recent spurt of some insurgency related activities in few interior parts of the state especially after abduction of four NBCC workers and killing of another abducted person by banned extremist groups, massive security arrangements have been made across Tripura for peaceful observance of 72nd Republic day, tomorrow. MHA imposed alert in the a wake of some extremist activities with special deployment para military forces in some parts of the state including Gandacherra and Kanchanpur subdivision. Though there is no specific report of any militant activity trying to disturb the Republic Day celebration, the security forces has not taken any chance. All the security forces and other agencies have intensified anti-sabotage checking especially in public places and dog squad has been called in. Vehicle checking is also going on. Patrolling on the border has also been increased by the BSF and the international border has been sealed. Police in civil dresses has also been increased for security purpose. The search operation is especially for the peaceful celebration of Republic Day as there is an alert has been issued.
