SFI Stages Protest As Tripura Govt Reduced Allocation In Budget For Education

A protest Sandeepan Deb was organized in City Agartala by the left student organizations SFI and TSU against the continuous reduction in allocation to the education sector in the state budget.

The rally started from the Chhatra Yuba Bhavan and traveled the various streets of the city.

The SFI State Secretary Sandipan Deb said that since the formation of the BJP and IPFT coalition government in 2018, the allocation in the education sector is being reduced every year.

“But when the Left Front government was in power in the state, more money was allocated to the education sector. At present the allocation has been reduced to three percent. And reducing the allocation means bringing down the attack on the education system” said Deb.

He also said that no new infrastructure is being developed in the field of education in the state. There is an extreme shortage of teachers and professors in schools and colleges. Thus day by day darkness is brought down in the field of education.

The left student organization protested against this. “This government does not want to listen to the voice of democracy. Only spreading lies. Government is doing nothing for mass education. In the name of quality education, the policy of closing down schools is being adopted” said SFI Secretary.

Therefore, demanded that the government should take an effective role in solving the problems of schools and colleges.
