Tripura Police arrested two Bangladeshi nationals – a brother and sister – on charges of illegal entry into the state and fraudulent attempts to making Indian identity documents.
This incident took place in the west district of Tripura.
The brother-sister duo, were detained following a complaint filed by the office of the Sub-Divisional Magistrate regarding fraudulent production of Aadhaar cards.
Tripura Police sources confirmed that thorough investigation, it is established that the man was originally from Bangladesh and had entered Tripura illegally.
“No valid document proving their Indian citizenship was found during police interrogation. They has been detained when they went to the SDM office to apply for Aadhar card” said police.
A case has been registered against the accused and they have been produced in the court.
