A young man threw acid on the police car in connection with the violence in Simna market under west tripura district on August 7.
Five people, including two police personnel, were injured in the incident.
Police arrested a man named Rajen Goala in connection with throwing acid on police vehicle.
The Simna tea plantation workers blocked the road in front of the Sundar Tila police outpost in Simna since late night on Tuesday demanding the release of the arrested Rajen Goala.
The road blockade continues on Wednesday. A youth who participated in the road blockade said that Rajen Goala is not connected with the incident of throwing acid on the police car in Simna Bazar on August 7. But the police arrested Rajen Goala without any charges. So they holds the road blockade.
Meanwhile, CRPF jawans have been deployed in the area to ensure that no untoward incident takes place in the area due to the road blockade.
It is to be noted that a young man from the tea garden was severely beaten on suspicion of being a thief in Simna Bazar last Sunday. The frenzy of the incident spread on Monday morning.
The tea plantation workers attacked the house of one Subir Das, Pranesh Das and Kajal Das. They beat up that young man on suspicion of being a thief. The tea plantation workers lynched Subir Das, Pranesh Das and Kajal Das on this allegation. Their family members were not left out.
Local police, SP and jawans rushed to the spot after getting the information. The police rescued the three youths from the crowd and picked them up in a car.
At that moment, a person threw a bottle of acid at the police car. Two police personnel including Subir Das, Pranesh Das and Kajal Das were injured.
Due to the acid, the two youths got burns on different parts of their bodies.
